Project A.L.A.N. has helped many organizations with only one donation drive this year. During our trip to North Carolina,
we donated to six organizations. We delivered donations to Hope Haven, a teen pregnancy program, homeless shelter,
men's free clothing store, women & children center, and a women's shelter.
During our trip, the Charlotte Observer covered our story. Not only did it announce our new foundation, but it gave me
an opportunity to address the public that the people who murdered my son are still out there and this mother will not give
up until they are in jail for their crime.
This donation drive will be to benefit agencies that try to keep our children busy and out of trouble which is right there waiting to reach our children. Keeping our youth busy during the summer builds stronger children and a stronger future.
Our children in the community need to keep thier minds and bodies active. Organizations such as C.Y.O. and Salvation Army provides the community with options to keep our kids active and important. I want to help them continue doing all
the good work they do for us all.
During this donation drive, i again want to express to the public the importance of crime prevention and speaking up to
to help add leads to an investigation. As the public we must do all we can to help keep ourself and our family safe from
the crimes that are afflicting all our cities from New York to North Carolina. Speaking up to the police is very frightening,
but the lives of the victoms are also frightening. Together we can help keep our area safer and we can feel proud that
we are doing all we can for our family and community.
I cannot wait to see the results of this drive. I can feel it in my heart this is going to be a great success also. I am sure that my son Alan is looking down from heaven and saying to me, " Mom, It's going to be alright ".
